VAT Registration in the UAE

If your business sales in the UAE go above AED 375,000 a year, VAT registration is mandatory. VATAXSYS, your VAT and Tax Consultant, checks your turnover, prepares your VAT registration on EmaraTax and gets your Tax Registration Number (TRN) issued, so you can charge VAT correctly from day one.

Mandatory registration
Taxable supplies above AED 375,000 in the last 12 months, or expected in the next 30 days
Voluntary registration
From AED 187,500 in taxable supplies or expenses
Late registration penalty
AED 10,000

Types of VAT registration we handle

  • Mandatory VAT registration for businesses above AED 375,000
  • Voluntary VAT registration from AED 187,500, so you can reclaim VAT on your costs
  • VAT group registration for related companies under common control
  • VAT registration for non-resident businesses making supplies in the UAE

Should you register voluntarily?

Voluntary VAT registration lets a growing business recover the VAT it pays on rent, equipment and other costs. It also means filing regular VAT returns, so we look at your numbers and tell you honestly whether it's worth it.

Watch the 30-day window

Once your taxable supplies pass AED 375,000, you have 30 days to apply. Applying late brings an AED 10,000 penalty.
