Changes that need a corporate tax amendment
- New or renewed trade licence, or a change in licence details
- Business name, legal form or business activities
- Business address, branches or contact details
- Owners, partners or shareholders
- Manager or authorised signatory
- Bank account details
- Changes to a tax group, including adding or removing members
Changing your financial year
Changing your tax period is not a simple amendment. It needs a separate application to the FTA with valid business reasons, and the FTA decides whether to approve it. We will tell you which route your change needs before we file anything.
Don't wait for your next return
Amendments have their own 20 business day deadline. Failing to keep your tax record up to date can lead to administrative penalties, even if your returns are filed on time.
Documents required for corporate tax amendment
- Updated trade licence
- Amended Memorandum of Association, if ownership or management changed
- Emirates ID and passport of new owners, managers or signatories

Corporate Tax Amendment FAQs
When do I need to amend my corporate tax registration?
Within 20 business days of any change to the information in your tax record, such as your licence, address, owners, activities or authorised signatory.
Do I need to amend my VAT registration as well?
Usually, yes. VAT and corporate tax are separate registrations, so the same change normally has to be updated on each one.
Can I change my corporate tax financial year?
Changing the tax period requires a separate application with valid reasons, and the FTA decides whether to approve it. It is not handled as a normal amendment.
What happens if I don't update my details?
The FTA can apply administrative penalties for failing to keep your tax record accurate, and notices may be sent to an old address you no longer check.
